Pebeo Have Re-introduced Their Range of Marbling Paints!

Pébéo Marbling consists of 9 colours and 1 thickening powder. Simply use these products to carry out the art of marbling. You can use this product on fabric, paper or any other light base surfaces.

The technique of Marbling used with Pébéo colours is a simplified and modernized bath technique. It can be undertaken by anyone, even the youngest.

PREPARATION OF THE BATH

Sprinkle 2 heaped teaspoons of thickener into 1 litre of cold water.Mix vigorously with a beater and then allow the gel to stand for at least 2 hours. Next, spread a layer of gel 1 to 2 cm thick into a flat tray or a container larger enough for the objects to be painted.

CARRYING OUT MARBLING

Using a dropper, carefully place the selected Marbling colours on the surface of the bath. Let the drops spread for a few seconds before working them with a wooden stick, to get various patterns and marblings. When the marbling is complete, gently place the side of the fabric or the paper to be painted, on the surface of the coloured bath. Leave for 10 to 15 seconds before lifting it out. Quickly rinse it under running water to remove the excess of gel.

On rounded surfaces, do not overload, to avoid runs. Ceramic colours can be applied with brush, sponge, screen, bath... A sufficiently thick layer of colour can be combined with other material like sand or engraved with a stick.

Objects painted with Ceramic colours are for decorative use only

PREPARATION OF THE BATH

Porcelaine 150 Paints

Porcelaine 150 can be applied to all heat-stable bases that are able to withstand a temperature of 150°C (300°F), such as porcelain, china, glazed earthenware, terracotta, metal, enamelled sheet steel, copper and glass. The choice of base enables numerous effects to be produced and experiments to be made with the transparency and intensity of the colours.

Many applications are possible with Porcelaine 150 : with brushes and also with sponge, stencil... The Porcelaine 150 outliners, in tube with nozzle, can be used for outlining work. The markers are recommended for lines and writing.

Colours can be fluidized with the Porcelaine 150 thinner.

To produce a matt finish, add a few drops of matt medium to the colour before application. The gloss medium can be used to lighten colours without thinning them.

The colours are applied directly to a perfectly degreased base with alcohol or soapy water. After observing the required drying time (minimum 24 hours), place the decorated object in a cold oven. When the temperature of the oven has reached 150°C (300°F), bake for 35 minutes. Colours have then a real enamelled look and resist dishwashing.
