The four-step griffix system is the first holistic product concept that consistently accompanies the process of learning how to write from the very begining.

The ergonomically shaped grip zone creates the perfect support for thumb, indes and middle finger and is based on the optimal writing posture called the "pliers grip". This grip provides children with the perfect posture which is comfortable for writing whilst holding the writing instrument correctly.

It is important for young children to cultivate the correct way of holding a writing instrument as early as possible to ensure they learn how to write properly.

Results from a poll in Germany indicated that 37% of all mothers and 50% of all children wish for improvement in the areas of posture when holding a writing instrument as well as comfortable grip and ease of use of the writing instrument.

This clever grip was developed according to the newest graphomotoric findings in co-operation with the Fraunhoger Institute for Industrial Engineering and Organisation. These writing instruments are not only practical but fun to use as well.

The fountain pens have cartridges which are designed with animal characters, sport or space and each each pen has "fun buttons" which attach to the end of the pen. The idea behind this is to make writing fun and at the forefront of a childs mind as they can collect fun buttons to decorate their pens.

The perfect writing instrument!

Learning how to write is an important step in the development of your child, but also a complex motor process. Parents should make sure that the child's hand does not cramp while writing. Fingerplays in between will help to loosen up.

As a matter of fact, successful writing is best performed with the pincer grasp. This grasping technique can be developed clearly easier and faster when a correct pen holding position is supported by a holistic learn-to-write system from the beginning on.

For this reason, the learn-to-write system griffix^® supports and accelerates the child's development right to the pincer grasp, without keeping them in leading strings. Consequently, there is an own griffix^® writing instrument for left- and for right-handed children. (Except with the wax marker, as the child´s left- or right-handedness will not develop until later.)

In order to use the pincer grasp, hold the pen between the thumb and the index finger and bend both slightly. At the same time, let the pen rest on the middle finger. By bending and stretching the fingers, your child also will even be able to make small-scaled movements perfectly.

With the first step of the griffix^® learn-to-write system, your child will be taught the right holding position from preschool on. Its grip area supports the correct positioning of the index- and middle finger and the thumb . It is suitable for left- and right-handed writing at the same time. This way, your child can try out which way works best for him or her. Thanks to the writing manner of the lead, your child will learn to dose the pressure used on the pen properly. Consequently, your child will have an easy start in learning how to write .

With the third step of the system, the griffix^® ink pen, the little ones will feel big already. The switching from pencil to ink is fitted to the more and more growing abilities of your child, as for in this phase, the children want to learn fluent handwriting movements. The ink cartridges are refillable here, as well. This way, your child surely will have no problems when preparing for writing with the fountain pen.
